Welcome to the County of Santa Barbara’s Energy Assurance Plan

The plan outlines a path to adapt our local electricity system to one that provides clean, reliable, resilient, and community-powered energy for all of Santa Barbara County.

Solar panels and energy storage at Fire Station 12 in Goleta offer one example of how the County is ensuring critical operations stay powered when the electricity grid goes down.

Reliable, Resilient Community Power

The Energy Assurance Plan was created to implement a recommendation from the County’s Strategic Energy Plan. The Energy Assurance Plan identifies goals and strategies to provide clean, reliable, and resilient power not just at County facilities but also community-wide. This site is designed to increase transparency and accountability for how the County meets its energy assurance goals.
